Jakob Aton Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Interstate 14 in Killeen

Jakob Aton Killed in Killeen Pedestrian Accident on U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14

Killeen, Texas (August 15, 2020) – According to DPS, a Good Samaritan was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Killeen.

The deadly accident occurred around 8:40 p.m., August 12, on U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14 at the Willow Springs Road overpass.

Police said Jakob Aton, 22, of Science Hill, Kentucky, was directing traffic around vehicles that had been involved in a minor crash when he was struck by a 2015 Chevrolet Cruz.

Aton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the Chevrolet driver was unable to avoid the accident.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
