Jamie Valdez Injured in Lubbock Two-Vehicle Crash on I-27

Lubbock, Texas (January 28, 2020) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Lubbock, according to the police.

The collision took place on Saturday, January 25, on Interstate 27.

Police said a Hyundai SUV, driven by Jamie Valdez, 22, was heading southbound when it went off the interstate into a concrete drainage ditch and then back onto the interstate where it collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The impact caused the SUV to roll and come to rest at a grass median.

Valdez was taken to UMC with critical injuries.

The Chevrolet driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
