Jesse Watkins Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 31 near Dawson

Jesse Watkins Killed, Jesse Watkins Seriously Injured in Dawson Car Crash on Highway 31
Dawson, Texas (April 15, 2019) – A man was killed, and another was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon near the city of Dawson, DPS said.
The fatal crash occurred at about 1:00 p.m. April 13, on Highway 31.
DPS said a 2015 white Hino utility truck was heading eastbound on the highway while a 2012 red Dodge Ram 2500 pickup was heading westbound.
The utility truck then veered off the roadway to the left, for an unknown reason, and crossed the center median into the eastbound lanes where it was hit on the right side by the Dodge. The impact caused the Dodge to go up under the utility truck. Both vehicles rolled over and came to rest with the utility truck on top of the Dodge.
The Dodge driver, a Jesse Watkins, 39, of Rockwall, was declared dead at the scene, while his passenger, Clifford Dooley, 64, of Rowlett, was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital, in Waco, with serious injuries.
The utility truck driver, Martin De La Hoya, 51, of Longview, was uninjured in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
