Carlos Padilla Killed in Martin County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20

Martin County, Texas (December 28, 2021) – A man was killed on Christmas afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Martin County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash occurred on December 25, on Interstate 20.

DPS said Carlos Fuentes Padilla, 69, was driving a 2010 Ford F-150 eastbound on the I-20 southbound service road while Olanrewaju Oyewo, 38, was exiting the interstate at ramp 155 in a Peterbilt tractor-trailer.

Padilla failed to yield the right of way at an intersection and crashed into the tractor-trailer.

Padilla was pronounced dead at the scene.

Oyewo was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
