Cassie Perez Struck, Killed by Suspected Drunk Driver in Rio Grande Valley

Cassie Perez ID’d as Teen Soldier Killed in Rio Grande Valley Pedestrian Accident
San Antonio (February 20, 2019) – The teen soldier who was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver early Friday morning in the Rio Grande Valley has been identified as Cassie Perez, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened at about 1:00 a.m. Friday, February 15 in the city of Edinburg. The exact scene of the crash was not mentioned in the report.
Authorities said Perez was attempting to push her stalled car to the side of the road when she was hit by a brown 2003 Ford Mustang driven by Edward Magallan, 25.
Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Magallan was charged with intoxication manslaughter.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
According to the report, Perez ‘s funeral will be held at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 28 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She will then be buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with an arrival and committal service beginning at 1:30 p.m.
