1 Killed in Pedestrian Crash on East Riverside Drive in South Austin

One Killed in South Austin Pedestrian Accident on East Riverside Drive near South Congress Avenue

Austin, Texas (August 13, 2023) – One person was killed early Friday morning in a pedestrian accident in South Austin, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened around 3:43 a.m., August 11, on East Riverside Drive near the intersection of South Congress.

Authorities said a pedestrian was struck by a trash truck in a parking lot.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

No other injuries were reported.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
