Two HPD Officers Injured in Houston Pedestrian Crash on Congress Street and Main Street

Houston, Texas (December 8, 2019) – Two HPD officers were struck by a suspected drunk driver early Sunday morning in downtown Houston, according to the police.

The crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. on Congress Street and Main Street.

Police said the officers were controlling traffic in the area and they attempted to get the driver to stop but the driver ignored all verbal commands and hit both officers.

The officers sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The driver was being checked for DWI.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
