Jessie Prince Jr ID’d as Man Killed in Newton County Car Crash on SH 87

Newton County, Texas (February 25, 2019) – The man who was killed in a deadly two-vehicle collision in Newton County on Friday evening has been identified as Jessie James Prince Jr., 47, of Newton, according to the authorities.
The crash happened on State Highway 87, about 6 miles south of Newton at about 7 p.m. on Friday, February 22.
DPS said Prince Jr. was operating a 2016 Ford passenger vehicle southbound on SH 87 when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming 2006 GMC pickup truck, towing a trailer and which was being driven by Blake Breaux, 24, of Orange.
Prince Jr. was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The DPS is investigating the incident.
