James Rowdy Stone Killed in Abilene Motorcycle Crash near Grape Street and Jameson Street

Abilene, Texas (October 30, 2020) – A man was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon in Abilene, according to police.

The fatal crash happened on October 29, near the intersection of Grape and Jameson Streets.

Police said James Rowdy Stone, 31, of Clyde, was riding a motorcycle and was attempting to elude an unmarked sheriff’s vehicle when he collided with a pickup truck that he was trying to pass.

Stone was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The sheriff’s vehicle had stopped the pursuit shortly before the crash.

An investigation is underway.
