Johnny Aguilar Killed in Montrose Two-Vehicle Crash on West Dallas Street

Montrose, Texas (November 15, 2022) – Two people were killed, and two others were injured early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Montrose, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just after 2:00 a.m., November 13, on West Dallas Street between Montrose Boulevard and Waugh Drive.

Police said a blue Maserati and a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee were speeding when the Jeep hit the Maserati, causing the Maserati driver to swerve off the roadway and crash into a utility pole and an old restaurant patio.

The Jeep also lost control and left the roadway and into a utility pole. Everyone in the Jeep fled the scene.

Two passengers in Maserati were pronounced dead at the scene. One of them has been identified as Johnny Aguilar, 26, of Deer Park.

A third person was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The Maserati driver left the scene before coming back. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Aguilar’s family has set up a GoFundMe to raise money for funeral expenses.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
