Maria Macias Killed, Daughter Severely Injured in La Feria Two-Vehicle Crash at Beddoes Road and Business 83; Bedelin Alegria Wanted
La Feria, Texas (January 8, 2022) – A woman was killed and her daughter was severely injured early Thursday morning in a hit-and-run accident in La Feria, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened on January 6, at the intersection of Beddoes Road and Business 83.
Police said a black sedan was coming to a stop at the intersection when it was struck by a white Ford F-150.
The occupants of the sedan, Maria Macias, 37, and her 12-year-old daughter, were severely injured in the crash.
Macias was later pronounced dead at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
The Ford driver, Bedelin Alegria, a Mexican national, fled the scene on foot. He is 5 feet in height, 180 pounds, has short hair, and has a large tattoo on his left shoulder.
An investigation is underway. Anyone with any information in regards to Alegria is asked to contact the La Feria Police Department at (956) 797-3121.
