Jose Gustavo Servin Killed in Rusk County Two-Vehicle Crash on US Highway 79

Rusk County, Texas (March 2, 2021) – One person was killed, and another was injured early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Rusk County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 1:48 a.m., February 27, on US Highway 79 South, 5.7 miles south of the city of Henderson.

DPS said a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Khamila Lashae Bradford, 24, of Winona, was traveling northbound on the highway when it failed to stay in a single lane, veered into the southbound lane, and crashed into a 2017 Hyundai Accent driven by Jose Gustavo Servin, 23, of Henderson.

Servin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bradford was taken to Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital – Tyler in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
