9-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured After Vehicle Crashes into San Antonio Home on E. Southcross

San Antonio, Texas (July 18, 2021) – According to the police, a 9-year-old boy was seriously injured early Saturday morning after a vehicle crashed into their home in San Antonio’s Southeast Side.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m., July 17, in the 3000 block of E. Southcross.

Police said an SUV was traveling eastbound when the driver went too fast along a curve, struck the curb, rolled over, hit a family’s home, and then struck a large tree.

Three members of the family were asleep during the crash. One of them, a 9-year-old boy, was injured in the crash and was taken to University Hospital in serious condition.

The SUV driver was ejected and was taken to the Brooke Army Medical Center in serious condition.

The other two family members were uninjured in the crash.

The SUV driver told officers that a silver vehicle pulled up beside him and began shooting a gun toward his vehicle, causing him to lose control and crash into the home.

An investigation is underway.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
