Matthew Everett Carr Killed in Rockland Two-Vehicle Crash on US Highway 69

Rockland, Texas – The person who was killed earlier this month in a fiery crash in Rockland has been identified as Matthew Everett Carr, 34, of Woodville, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:52 p.m., December 5, on US Highway 69.

DPS said a Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling northbound on the highway and was stopped due to construction when it was rear-ended by a Ford F-150.

The Ford caught fire after the collision.

The Ford driver, Carr, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional information was available.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
