Joseph Moretti Killed in Car Crash on CR 378 in Smith County

Joseph Moretti Killed in Smith County Two-Vehicle Crash on County Road 378

Smith County, Texas (September 19, 2023) – The man who was killed last Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash in Smith County has been identified as 22-year-old Joseph M. Moretti of Tyler, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on September 12, on County Road 378, just 2.75 miles east of Tyler.

DPS said Moretti was driving a 2003 Honda Accord eastbound when he failed to give one-half of the roadway and collided with a westbound 2020 GMC Yukon.

Moretti was killed in the crash.

The Yukon driver, Roselia L. Cruz, 36, was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
