Molly Reck Killed in Smith County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 346

Smith County, Texas (August 19, 2022) – According to the Texas DPS, a teenager was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Smith County, west of Whitehouse.

The fatal crash happened around 4:50 p.m., August 17, on Farm to Market Road 346.

DPS said Molly Reck, 18, of Tyler, was driving a Hyundai Tucson eastbound while a 16-year-old was driving a Toyota RAV4 westbound.

The Toyota left the roadway to the right, overcorrected, and crossed into the eastbound lane, where it crashed into the Tucson.

Reck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota driver was taken to UT Health Texas – Tyler in stable condition.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
