Joshua McCracken Killed in 4-Vehicle Crash on SH 349 in Martin County

Joshua McCracken ID’d as Man Killed in Martin County Crash on SH 349

Martin County, Texas (December 27, 2022) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the man who died following a Wednesday traffic accident in Martin County as Joshua McCracken.

The deadly crash took place on SH 349 on Wednesday, December 21.

DPS said a semi-truck was travelling southbound on SH 349 and was stopped in the inside lane waiting to make a left turn onto a private road.

A truck, driven by McCracken, was also heading southbound on SH 349 when he failed to control speed and crashed into the trailer of the semi. A third vehicle that was also traveling southbound on SH 349 also hit the trailer of the semi.

A fourth vehicle that was heading northbound on SH 349 was struck by debris from the crash in the southbound lane.

McCracken was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
