Journie Fletcher Killed in Head-On Crash on State Highway 59 in Montague County

Journie Fletcher ID’d as Woman Killed in Montague County Crash on State Highway 59 near Bowie

Montague County, Texas (July 12, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the woman who died in a head-on Crash on Friday evening in Montague County as Journie Fletcher, 23, Nocona.

The deadly crash happened at about 5:45 p.m. Friday, July 7 on State Highway 59, three miles north of Bowie.

DPS said a car, occupied by Fletcher, attempt tp pass several vehicles in a no passing zone and collided head-on with another vehicle.

After the impact of the collision, went airborne and flipped before caught fire.

Fletcher who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and died in the crash.

The driver, Symon Ford, 21, was in critical condition and passenger in the other car.

The crash remains under investigation.
