Julio Torres Jr., Critically Injured in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Gulf Freeway

Houston, Texas (May 26, 2023) – The person who was injured on April 2 in a hit-and-run crash in Houston has been identified as Julio Torres, Jr., 30, according to the police.

The accident happened around 11:40 p.m., in the 7800 block of Gulf Freeway (Interstate 45 South) service road.

Police said Torres was found lying in the middle of the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle is believed to be an SUV or truck, unknown make or model.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to call the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
