Justin Dike and Alexius Mills Killed in Arlington Hit-and-Run Crash on SH 360

Arlington, Texas (October 18, 2021) – Three people, including a pregnant woman and her baby, were killed early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Arlington, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened on October 16, on State Highway 360 service road, just south of Ragland Road.

Police said the woman’s vehicle had stalled along the service road, and a man had stopped to help her.

Adan Hermosillo Garcia, 31, was driving an SUV when he rear-ended the man’s car, causing a chain-reaction crash.

The man, 27-year-old Justin Dike, was trapped under the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pregnant woman, 28-year-old Alexius Mills, was rushed to the hospital, where doctors delivered her baby. However, both Mills and the baby boy later died.

Dike’s mother said he was the father of the child.

Garcia fled the scene after the accident but was quickly located and arrested by Mansfield officers. He was booked into the Arlington jail on three charges of intoxication manslaughter and three counts of failing to stop and render aid in an accident involving death. He was transferred to the Tarrant County Jail on Sunday.

The police are investigating the crash.

In Texas, a driver is legally intoxicated after consuming alcohol if their blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08% or higher. A driver is also considered intoxicated if they don’t have the normal use of their mental or physical faculties by reason of the introduction of alcohol. Alcohol however is not the only intoxicant, as drivers can become intoxicated by ingesting prescription and illegal drugs such as crack, marijuana, and cocaine.

Regardless of what substance caused the driver’s reaction time to become significantly altered, intoxication by any means can cause terrible accidents and injuries.

Innocent victims harmed by drunk drivers are entitled to compensation for their injuries, including but not limited to medical expenses; lost wages; pain and suffering and mental anguish; physical impairment and disability; and most importantly, punitive damages to deter future conduct. If a death occurred because of a drunk driver, you will want a knowledgeable accident lawyer to bring a wrongful death action against the drunk driver.
