Kaufman County Deputy Injured in Terrell Two-Vehicle Crash near Highway 80 and FM 429

Terrell, Texas (September 25, 2020) – A Kaufman County sheriff’s deputy was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday east of Terrell, according to a local news source.

The crash happened on September 24, near Highway 80 and FM 429.

According to the report, the deputy was parked next to a state trooper, and both were on traffic duty, when the driver of a pickup truck missed a curve due to mist, causing him to go into a ditch and crash into the deputy’s parked SUV.

The deputy was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

The pickup driver was treated at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
