Lauren Goppert Killed in NW Harris County Pedestrian Accident on Highway 6

Harris County, Texas – A woman was fatally hit by a vehicle Friday night in northwest Harris County, according to the deputies.

The deadly accident happened around 11:35 p.m., December 8, in the 8900 block of State Highway 6 North.

Deputies said Lauren Goppert was walking northbound in an area where there were no lights or a designated crosswalk. She attempted to cross the roadway to go southbound and was struck by a vehicle. The driver applied the brakes before hitting Goppert.

Another vehicle stopped to avoid hitting Goppert and was rear-ended by another car.

Goppert was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver who hit her stayed at the scene and did not show any signs of being impaired.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash.
