Levi Brizuela Seriously Injured in Magnolia Pedestrian Accident at Mostyn and Community Road

Magnolia, Texas (September 18, 2021) – According to the authorities, an 11-year-old boy was seriously injured on Sunday in a pedestrian accident in Magnolia.

The accident happened on September 12, at the intersection of Mostyn and Community Road.

Authorities said Levi Brizuela was walking home from swimming at a friend’s house and was crossing southbound across the intersection when he was struck by a truck that was speeding eastbound on Community Road.

The force of the impact sent Brizuela’s flying through the air, and he ended up landing about 40 feet away in a construction ditch. He was airlifted to Memorial Hermann with serious injuries, including a collapsed lung, fractured ribs and pelvis, a dislocated arm, and a concussion. He is a sixth-grader at Bear Branch Intermediate School.

The truck driver was cited for driving without insurance.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Brizuela’s family with medical expenses.

No other details regarding the accident were provided.

An investigation is underway.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.
