Lorraine Cunningham Killed and Michael Cunningham Injured in Grimes County Two-Vehicle Crash on Texas 90

Grimes County, Texas (February 2, 2021) – Three people were killed, and another was injured Friday afternoon in a head-on collision in Grimes County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 4:45 p.m., January 29, on Texas 90, north of Anderson.

DPS said a car was traveling southbound on the highway when it passed in a no-passing zone and collided head-on with another vehicle.

The driver of the southbound car, Anel Ovidio Javier, 28, of Lewisville, and passenger, Erick Almonte Nunez, 20, of Lewisville, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, Michael Cunningham, 68, of El Campo, was taken to CHI St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan in serious condition. His passenger, Lorraine Cunningham, 69, of El Campo, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
