Lucia Tanguma ID’d as Woman Killed in Corpus Christi Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 358 near Everhart Road
Corpus Christi, Texas (February 26, 2019) – The woman who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Saturday night on a Corpus Christi highway has been identified as Lucia Tanguma,68, according to the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The fatal crash was reported a while before 9:00 p.m. February 23, on State Highway 358 near Everhart Road, along South Padre Island Drive.
Authorities said Tanguma was driving a gray passenger car westbound on the highway when she was involved in a collision with several other vehicles. Details of how the collision occurred were not immediately available.
Tanguma was declared dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
No other injuries were reported in the collision.
Police said speed was a factor in the crash and that alcohol was not a factor.
The entrance ramps at Everhart and Weber roads were closed following the crash.
The Corpus Christi police are investigating the crash.
