Man Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 80 in Big Spring; Willie Gray Arrested

61-Year-Old Man Injured in Big Spring Scooter Accident on Highway 80; Willie Gray Arrested

Big Spring, Texas (August 20, 2020) – A 61-year-old man was injured in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night in Big Spring, according to police.

The accident happened around 7:38 p.m., August 18, in the 3100 block of Highway 80.

Police said the man was riding a motorized scooter when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.

The man was taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center and later taken to UMC in Lubbock. His condition was not released.

The driver, Willie Gray, later went to the police department and told officers he had struck the pedestrian. He was arrested and charged with accident involving injury or death.

The police are investigating the crash.
