Two Injured in Ellis County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 45

Ellis County, Texas (May 9, 2021) – Two people were injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Ellis County, a local news source reported.

The crash happened just before 5:00 a.m. on Interstate 45.

According to the report, the crash involved an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck.

The 18-wheeler, which was hauling soda, turned on its side and caught fire on an overpass after the collision.

Two people in the pickup were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The 18-wheeler driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of the interstate for some time.

The crash remains under investigation.
