Mariano Lugo Killed in San Antonio Motorcycle Accident at Interstate 35 and Southcross Boulevard

San Antonio, Texas (January 23, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in San Antonio, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just after 2:00 a.m., on January 23, at the intersection of Interstate 35 access road and Southcross Boulevard.

Police said Mariano Lugo was riding a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Southcross when a 2008 Honda Accord ran a red light at the intersection and was struck by the motorcycle.

Lugo was thrown off his motorcycle and was taken to BAMC, where he was pronounced dead. A GoFundMe has been set up to help Lugo’s family.

The occupants of the Honda fled the scene following the crash.

If found, the Honda driver is facing a failure to stop and render aid -resulting in death charge.

The police are investigating the crash.
