Bicyclist Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Interstate 35 in San Antonio

Man Killed in San Antonio Bicycle Accident on Interstate 35

San Antonio, Texas (June 11, 2022) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday morning in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The fatal bicycle accident happened at about 3:00 a.m. in the 6400 block of Interstate 35 access road on the city’s Northeast Side.

Police said the bicyclist was hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.

First responders found the man lying on the ground. Despite life-saving measures performed by the medical personnel, the victim did not survive his injuries and was declared dead at the scene. His name was being withheld pending notification of family.

There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or driver.

Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.

Police closed the access road during the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.
