Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Interstate 10 in Jacinto City

Man Killed in Jacinto City Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 10 near Mercury
Jacinto City, Texas (January 18, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday morning in Jacinto City, authorities said.
The tragic accident took place at around 7:50 a.m. Thursday, January 17 on Interstate 10 near Mercury.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian had a red light as he crossed at Mercury near the service road and the traffic light on the service road turned green.
Authorities said the man had left a Shell convenience store on Mercury, where he had picked up some ice.
The man was walking northbound on Mercury toward the underpass at Interstate 10 when a Waste Connections truck struck him while he was crossing the road.
The unidentified man was taken to Memorial Hermann, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of her relatives.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
