Man Struck, Killed by Semi-Truck on U.S. Highway 75 in Sherman

Man Killed in Sherman Pedestrian Accident on U.S. Highway 75 near FM 691

Sherman, Texas (July 20, 2020) – A man was fatally hit by a semi-truck Saturday night in Sherman, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around 11:30 p.m., July 18, on U.S. Highway 75 near FM 691.

Police said a truck pulling a trainer with a Conex box was traveling northbound on the highway when it was rear-ended by a car.

The impact caused the car to catch fire, and two men pulled over to help.

One of the men saw an oncoming semi-truck and pushed the other man out of the way. 

The man was then struck by the semi-truck, and he was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The driver of the car that caught fire was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

The crash closed the highway.

The police are investigating the crash.
