Woman Killed in Head-on Crash on Highway 175 near Cuney

East Texas Woman Dies in Highway 175 Crash near Cuney Sunday Morning

Cuney, Texas (November 14, 2023) – A woman from East Texas was killed early Sunday after her vehicle collided head-on with another near Cuney, according to the Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The deadly crash happened at about 5:26 a.m. Sunday, November 12 on Highway 175.

According to DPS, the woman was driving a Dodge Dart northwest on Highway 175 when she collided head-on with a Ford F-140 pickup truck towing a trailer.

Authorities say the woman was traveling in the wrong lane of traffic when the crash occurred. The East Texas woman was ejected from her vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup was injured and was taken to UT Health Tyler in unknown condition. Authorities say the driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
