55-Year-Old Woman Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Kirby Drive at Southwest Freeway in Houston

Houston, Texas – The 55-year-old woman who was injured last month in a pedestrian accident in Houston has died, according to the police.

The accident happened around 6:40 a.m., March 22, at the intersection of Kirby Drive and the Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road.

Police said the woman was crossing the service road eastbound against the light when she was struck by a black Lexus GS460 that was traveling eastbound on Kirby and was turning onto the Southwest Freeway service road.

The woman was taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in critical condition where she later died. Her name has not been released.

The SUV driver, a 53-year-old man, remained at the scene after the accident.

The police are investigating the crash.
