Man Killed and Three Injured in Tomball Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 2978

Tomball, Texas – A man was killed and three other people were injured on Thursday in an 18-wheeler crash in Tomball, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on December 14, on FM 2978.

Authorities said a big-rig truck that was carrying an oversized load of steel beams did not make a turn and the driver backed up to try again. As the truck was reversing, a Chevy Equinox SUV crashed into the back of it, sheering the roof off the Chevy.

The man who was sitting in the rear seat on the passenger side of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Two other adults and a 13-year-old girl who was sitting in the front were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
