Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash on Almeda Genoa Road in Houston

39-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Motorcycle Accident on Almeda Genoa Road

Houston, Texas (June 27, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The fatal crash occurred at about noon Saturday, June 25, in the 8300 block of Almeda Genoa Road.

Police said a 39-year-old man was riding a red Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Almeda Genoa Road and was approaching the intersection of Monroe Road when he was hit by a blue Mercury Marquis that was trying to turn onto Monroe Road from a gas station.

Witnesses told the authorities that the motorcyclist had the green light while the driver of the Mercury failed to stop for a red light.

The motorcyclist was taken to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake, where he died from his injuries. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Mercury did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. There was no description of the vehicle or driver.
