Maribel Zavala Killed in Hit-and-Run on East Saunders in Laredo

Laredo, Texas – A woman in a wheelchair was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Laredo, according to the Laredo Police Department.

The deadly accident happened around 5:00 a.m., May 5, in the 210 block of East Saunders.

Police said Maribel Zavala, 44, was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

Zavala was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

No additional information was available.

The police are investigating the crash.
