Alfredo Sanchez Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on FM 1788 in Andrews County

Alfredo Sanchez ID’d as Man Killed in Andrews County Crash on FM 1788

Andrews County, Texas (April 21, 2022) – Authorities have identified the person who died Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in Andrews County as Alfredo Sanchez, 54, of Andrews.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash took place on FM 1788 on April 20.

The DPS said a 2004 Freightliner truck hauling a trailer was heading northbound on FM 1788 when, for an unknown reason, the driver allowed the vehicle to drift into the opposite lane and hit the front of a southbound 2008 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by Sanchez.

Sanchez was airlifted to Permian Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The condition of the other driver was not known.

Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

No other information regarding the crash was available.

The crash remains under investigation.
