Melody Wallace Injured in Angelina County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 69 North near Briar Village/Holmes Road

Angelina County, Texas (July 4, 2019) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Angelina County, according to the officials.

The crash happened around 7:42 a.m. July 3, on U.S. 69 North near Briar Village/Holmes Road.

Troopers said Charles Evans, 61, of Lufkin, was driving 2003 Peterbilt semi-trailer southbound on the highway at an unsafe speed when he changed lanes and collided with a 2017 Dodge, driven by Melody Wallace, 47, of Pollok.

Evans was towing a load of logs, which spilled into the roadway after the collision.

Wallace was taken to a Lufkin hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Evans was uninjured in the crash.

The crash caused delays in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
