Miguel Morales Killed in Crash on Interstate 35 in La Salle County

Miguel Morales ID’d as Victim Killed in La Salle County Crash on Interstate 35

La Salle County, Texas (September 2, 2022) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the person who died following a traffic crash early Thursday in La Salle County as Miguel Alejandro Morales, 40.

The deadly crash happened at around 8:14 a.m. Thursday, September 1 on Interstate 35, approximately 7 miles north of Encinal.

DPS said a 1995 International truck tractor hauling a 2014 Direct Trailer was heading southbound on Interstate 35 when the truck tractor’s left tires on axle 3 came off.

One of the tires rolled across the median into the northbound lane and crashed into the front windshield of a 2019 Ford Expedition was heading northbound on Interstate 35.

Morales who was the driver of the Expedition was declared dead at the scene.

Additional information is not available at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
