Neal Ward, Kelly Ward, Shirley Dolan and Linda Royal ID’d as Four Killed in Wharton County Crash on U.S. Highway 59 and County Road 309
Wharton County, Texas (October 24, 2022) – The four people who died Sunday night following a two-vehicle crash in Wharton County have been identified as Neal Ward, 77, Kelly Ward, 58, and Shirley Dolan, 79, all from Corpus Christi and Linda Royal, 75, of Mathis.
The fatal crash occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, on U.S. Highway 59 and County Road 309.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2021 Ford F-150 was heading northbound on U.S. Highway 59 when it struck the trailer of a 2001 Peterbilt Truck Tractor that was trying to cross U.S. 59 northbound to travel onto CR 309.
The driver of the Ford, Neal Ward, and two of his passengers, Kelly Ward and Shirley Dolan, were pronounced dead at the scene. The third passenger, Linda Royal, was taken to an El Campo hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the Peterbilt, Mark Hajovsky, 54, of Louise, did not suffer any injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
