James Browning Killed in Head-On Crash on US 59 in Panola County

James Browning Killed in Panola County Two-Vehicle Crash on US Highway 59

Panola County, Texas – The person who was killed last Friday morning in a head-on collision in Panola County has been identified as James M. Browning, 21, of Marshall, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on December 8, on U.S. Highway 59, just 1 mile north of Carthage.

DPS said Browning was driving a 2009 Nissan Murano southbound in the northbound lanes when he crashed head-on into a northbound 2021 Kenworth Truck Tractor towing double trailers.

Browning was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck tractor was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
