16-Year-Old Victor Carbajal Killed in Waller County Bicycle Accident near Buller and Zadelsky Roads

Waller County, Texas (February 7, 2020) – A 16-year-old Royal ISD student was killed Tuesday evening in a hit-and-run crash in rural Waller County, according to the authorities.

The deadly crash took place around 6:50 p.m. February 4, near the intersection of Buller and Zadelsky Roads.

DPS said Victor Carbajal, 16, was riding a bicycle from his girlfriend’s house when he was hit by a 2000 Chrysler Voyager driven by 31-year-old Daniel Griffin of Brookshire.

Carbajal was hit just outside his rural Waller County ranch.

Griffin fled the scene without rendering aid.

Carbajal, who played the trombone in the Royal High School Band, was killed in the crash.

Griffin was later arrested for failure to stop and render aid at an accident, causing death and is currently being held at Waller County Jail.

The crash remains under investigation.
