San Antonio, Texas (November 25, 2020) – The man who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash last month in San Antonio has been identified as Nicholas Ruiz, 23, according to police.

The accident happened around 9:00 p.m., October 19, on San Pedro Avenue.

Police said Ruiz was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Antonio Coronado, 20.

Ruiz was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, including two broken legs, a broken knee, a broken pelvis, a broken clavicle, a brain bleed, and severe trauma. He has undergone several surgeries and is still in the ICU.

Coronado left the scene after the accident and called his mother, who called the authorities and confessed that her son committed the crime.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws or statutes which were violated.
