Nicomedes Ramos Injured in Lubbock Hit-and-Run Crash on University Avenue
Lubbock, Texas (January 9, 2019) – One person was injured last month in a DUI crash in Lubbock, police said.
The hit-and-run accident happened at about 6:11 a.m. Sunday, December 16, 2018, in the 9300 block of University Avenue.
Police said two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on the street when one of the vehicles, driven by Richard Garcia, drifted into the wrong direction lane and collided head-on with the vehicle driven by Nicomedes Ramos.
Ramos sustained unknown injuries as a result of the crash. Garcia did not stop to render aid and fled the scene on foot.
Garcia, who was under the influence at the time of the accident, was later found by the officers. He was then arrested on DUI charges.
No further information regarding the crash was immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
