Jose Almanza ID’d as Man Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on South Loop West near FM 521

Houston, Texas (September 7, 2019) – The man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday in Houston has been identified as Jose Almanza, 56, a local news source reported.

The accident occurred around 7:20 p.m. September 3, in the 1100 block of South Loop West near Farm to Market 521.

As per the report, John Richard Vasquez, 60, was driving on the road when he crossed over the center line and hit Almanza who was standing next to his vehicle while changing a tire.

Almanza was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Vasquez was arrested for DUI and other charges.

The crash remains under investigation.
