Nina Alvarez Critically Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Bear Creek Parkway in Keller; Michael Mango Arrested

Keller, Texas – A 14-year-old girl was critically injured Thursday night in a pedestrian accident in Keller, according to the police.

The accident happened around 6:30 p.m., April 4, in the 400 block of Bear Creek Parkway near Bear Creek Park.

Police said Nina Alvarez, who is an Indian Springs Middle School student, was jogging across the street at a crosswalk when she was struck by a pickup truck that was speeding down the street.

Alvarez was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine in critical but stable condition.

The pickup truck driver, 67-year-old Michael Mango, of Ferris, remained at the scene. He was arrested and charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury. He was transferred from the Keller Detention Facility to the Tarrant County Jail on Friday afternoon.

The police are investigating the crash.
