Officer Injured in Houston Car Accident on Highway 249 at Cypress Creek Parkway

Houston, Texas (February 19, 2022) – A Houston police officer was hit by a vehicle Thursday night in Houston, according to the authorities.

The accident occurred on February 17, on Highway 249 at Cypress Creek Parkway.

Authorities said a woman was driving a pickup truck northbound on the highway when she lost control and hit the guardrail. The pickup truck then rolled over, and the woman was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

As police were blocking traffic for that crash, a car crashed into an officer’s patrol SUV. 

The officer was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No other information was available.

An investigation is underway.
