Officer K. Kalteyer Hospitalized after Duval County Car Crash on SH 359

Duval County, Texas (July 11, 2019) – A police officer was hit and injured by a vehicle while at the scene of an earlier accident on Tuesday night in Duval County, according to the authorities.

The incident happened on State Highway 359, approximately eight miles from Benavides on Tuesday, July 9.

Authorities said Officer K. Kalteyer was blocking the roadway as the Duval County Sheriff’s deputies were conducting an investigation into a crash when he was hit by an oncoming driver.

Officer Kalteyer was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries. He was reportedly in stable condition at the hospital.
