Woman Killed in Lufkin Train Accident on Southwood Drive near Loop 287

Lufkin, Texas (December 26, 2019) – A woman was killed in a train versus vehicle crash on Christmas Day in Lufkin, according to the police.

The crash was reported at about 12:19 a.m. December 25, on Southwood Drive outside of Loop 287.

Police said an SUV pulled out in front of a train from a private drive crossing, resulting in a collision.

The SUV driver was declared dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
