Fidel Juarez Killed in Harris County Street Racing Crash near Cutten Road and Belgold Drive

Harris County, Texas (September 12, 2020) – One person was killed in a street racing crash Thursday night in Harris County, according to deputies.

The fatal crash occurred around 6:45 p.m., September 10, near the intersection of Cutten Road and Belgold Drive, near Willowbrook Mall.

Deputies said two Dodge Chargers were racing when one of them crashed into a blue Ford F-150, pushing it into the brick pillar of a building.

The Ford driver, 36-year-old Fidel Juarez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Charger driver, 30-year-old Jarrod Mikel, and his passenger, a 23-year-old woman, who was believed to be his sister, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Mikel admitted to have been speeding at the time of the crash.

The authorities are looking for the other racing driver who fled the scene. The vehicle was described as a 2016 black Dodge Charger with a bumblebee placard in the back.

An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the HCSO Vehicular Crimes Division at 713-274-7400.
